I finally stopped the other morning and shot this church. So many lovely old buildings that are now abandoned.
I had the privilege of working with these great kids again this year {happy birthday R!} They give cute a whole new meaning.
Here’s the sneak preview I promised! {I’ll email you as soon as the proofs are posted online.}

She decided that she REALLY wanted to try the sax. Turned out to be a great choice. She loves it. Practices all the time.

Allentown has some beautiful architecture… well… what’s left of it anyway. Next week I’ll try to shoot some of the lovely art deco carvings on the PPL building. These were shot from the 4th floor of the building where I work. A different perspective.
I really love the rose garden in Allentown. The roses are just starting to bloom. Beautiful.
There’s nothing like morning light… except maybe evening light. I drive over a bridge almost daily, and very often first thing in the morning when the sun is coming up and it bounces off the water in a way that makes you feel glad to be alive. In keeping with my new photo attitude, I finally stopped, in spite of the bar across the access road.

Morning sun on the water
Keep out
Kids should not have to go to school first thing in the morning… one should not have to start work early either… the day should start after that magical morning light is done.

Lilac in the morning
I do love the blooms of Spring. Our yard is coming to life, and my Mother’s Day Lilac from two years ago is blooming beautifully.
There a creek near our house. I drive past it every day… down the hill, over the bridge, around the corner and we’re home, as my little girl used to say. Continuing with my new resolve to shoot more, I stopped and captured this the other day. I love the colors, and the way the water looks with a slower shutter speed.

Pipe near the bridge
Every Spring for years I’ve wanted to stop and photograph these trees in Allentown. I’ve never stopped. Where would I park… I’d have to stand in the middle of the road to get the shot… blah blah blah excuses. I’ve been inspired lately to shoot even if there are barriers.
Yesterday, I stopped.
